Individual & Relationship Counselling

Getting started
I know how important it is to find the right counsellor you can truly feel a connection with, to build a trusting therapeutic relationship, to be able to openly bring and explore difficult stuff. So I would like to offer an initial chat.
Initial call -
To get started please contact me via an email or a call and we can arrange the initial chat. This is a free, no obligation, call over Zoom or telephone and usually lasts between 15 and 25mins. It aims at answering any questions you might have, get to know each other a bit and see if we connect. My email and phone line are dedicated to counselling, are confidential and all emails are encrypted on my end. If I am not available to answer my phone please leave your name and phone number and I will get back to you within 2 working days. Please note, to maintain confidentiality, I will not call back or leave a voicemail unless you have asked me to. If we decide to continue, we'll find a time that works for both of us
First session -
The first session differs slightly from other sessions because we’ll discuss our working agreement/ contract and gather basic information to get us started. Although the duration of counselling is entirely up to you, having an agreement in place is paramount. It is a part of good ethical practice, provides essential details and helps to ensure we are on the same page.
I typically start with an initial assessment, where we look closely at what brought you to counselling now and the nature of your concerns, some background and what you would like to gain from working together. That said, I’m aware that it can feel overwhelming with “too much too soon” to share all that in the first session. Then trust your instincts and we can begin focusing on what prompted you here and present issues. Always remember, I’ll be led by you.
What I offer
- therapeutic sessions that last 50 minutes long.
- individual and couples counselling.
- online counselling, via zoom, at the convenience of your own confidential space
- short and long term/ open ended therapy. It really is your choice and depends on needs. With longer term therapy, it’s good practice to do regular reviews, every 6 to 8 weeks, to assess your progress, revisit goals and areas you would like to focus on.
I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
